Dunmow Waste Support ‘Little Havens Children’s Hospice’ Refurbishment
Dunmow Waste Management are delighted to support a much-needed refurbishment of the Little Havens Hospice in Southend, Essex.
The Little Havens Hospice focuses on ‘making every day count’ for children and young adults with life-limiting illnesses. They also offer respite breaks and vital support to all the families involved.
The much-needed 4 week ‘DIY-SOS’ style £100,000 refurbishment is being funded by Loop Interiors and their partners and will be completed in June. With a theme of ‘Woodland Fairytale’ all of the design, decorating, furniture and fittings will be donated. There will be increased storage for toys and equipment as well as more private seating areas.
The team at Dunmow Waste are passionate about supporting such essential projects within the community and have offered their waste management services to the hospice to remove all the excess waste from their Southend base. This was all taken back to our Recycling Centre in Chelmsford, where as much as possible will be recycled.
Havens Hospices is a registered charity – not part of the NHS – and receives limited government funding. The organisation must raise over £100,000 every week to be there for everyone who needs its care. “Our hospices only exist because of the support and generosity of the community” – Little Havens Hospice.
We are extremely proud to be supporting such an important and life-changing organisation which is very close to the hearts of all those at Dunmow Waste Management and we are all looking forward to the grand reveal of the newly refurbished hospice.
